Pavement Roughness Annual

Published by TDOT_GIS

<div><b>General Information</b></div><div>The International Roughness Index (IRI) defines roughness of pavements in a way that correlates to the movement of a simulated vehicle moving at ~50 mph. Bumps and dips in the pavement which would be experienced by the vehicle driver or rider would increase the IRI. Roughness smaller than a tire footprint that cannot be felt in a vehicle, such as small cracks, should not affect IRI values.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The Average Roughness Rating is based on the Average IRI broken down as such:</div><div>Good - IRI less than 95</div><div>Fair - IRI between 95 and 170</div><div>Poor - IRI greater than 170</div><div><br /></div><div>All Interstates and state routes on the National Highway System (NHS) are collected in both directions annually. State routes not on the NHS are collected in one direction every other year.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style='font-family:&quot;Avenir Next W01&quot;, &quot;Avenir Next W00&quot;, &quot;Avenir Next&quot;, Avenir, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif; font-size:16px;'>This data is for the 2 year cycle of 2022-2023.</span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Pavement Roughness Layer</b></div><div><div>This data contains the latest records for all Interstates, State Routes and NHS routes.  </div></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Pavement Roughness County Summary</b></div><div>Data is provided at the county level; county level summary data does not reflect any one specific roadway or roadway segment.  <br /></div>
